Accessorize The Right Way
Fashion is a hot and fast industry. Everything is so fast pace. With influencers trying to keep up with all of the trends, to the ones who want to mimic the influencers and their style, jewelry seems to not get the attention it needs. Learning how to accessorize the correct way (although there is no “correct” way) is crucial to achieving a clean and sophisticated look that most people nowadays try to go for. Keep reading to know how I accessorize with every outfit!
Less is More
Jewelry should compliment and be added to enhance an outfit, NOT take the attention away from the outfit. Minimalism is everywhere, even in jewelry. Keeping the jewelry to a minimum is the best option to keep the overall look clean, sophisticated, and classy.
I like to keep it to a minimum and not go overboard with it. Stacking jewelry is fun and all, but for me, in order to achieve an overall sleek and minimalist look, I just keep it simple and chic.
My advice would be to have no more than 3 necklaces, at most 3 rings for each hand, and the number of earrings varies. As long as they don’t draw too much attention, the number does not matter as much.
Be Consistent With Colors
Jewelry has lots of colors and it could be tempting to mix them all, but being consistent with jewelry colors elevates your outfit. I always keep consistency by wearing all gold/white gold. The reasons I stick to gold is because it’s a warm tone, and warm tones are a better fit for me. Gold just makes me feel all classy and put together, even when my outfit is more on the chill side! Ultimately, how you pick your colors depends on the rest of your outfit and how it matches. But consistency is key :)
Different Pieces for Different Outfits
Not every outfit requires the same type of jewelry, especially if your jewelry mainly consists of staple pieces (staple pieces, meaning that they stand out on its own). Some outfits require more, while others require less. For example, any outfit that has an open chest or off the shoulder needs minimal jewelry. Remember, you want to have just the right amount of jewelry to achieve that high class and elegant look. Staple pieces are awesome, but only if the rest of your jewelry aren’t too loud or cause too much attention.
The less jewelry around the neck = more attention to the neckline and chest. If you’re wearing a sweatshirt or crew neck that covers everything but your hands, maybe wear more rings to elevate the outfit! How you choose to accessorize is up to you, so wherever you feel that needs more or less jewelry is for you to decide!
If you don’t like switching out jewelry pieces, invest in a few good and timeless pieces that can go with every outfit. My default pieces are one gold bracelet with diamonds, one set of gold hoop earrings, a 5 ring set (I don’t wear them all at once), and one gold necklace. Occasionally I switch out my jewelry, but whenever I don’t feel like it, my default jewelry can go with every outfit just in case.
Go Bare Sometimes
Sometimes an outfit is perfect on its on and does not require any jewelry! Remember, jewelry is supposed to add to the outfit to enhance it, not take attention away. Keeping it bare gives off a minimal and sleek look. It also adds more attention to a fire outfit when no jewelry is added. Like I said before, LESS IS MORE!
Jewelry, as well as other accessories are fun to play with. See what works best for you, but when in doubt, keep it minimal or even keep it bare. Hope you enjoyed this segment, and sunglasses are up next!
