A Guide To Basics: Fall

It’s finally fall! What I love about fall is the weather and the vibes, but most importantly the fashion! It could be really hard to know where to start because there’s so much clothes to choose from. I suggest to start with getting the basics first, then building from there. Don’t worry, here’s a guide to basics for the fall season.

Colors

The colors that you should start with should be very neutral and should coordinate with majority of your wardrobe.

  • Black

  • White

  • Tan/Brown

  • Grey

The colors will be easy to find, easy to pair with other items in your wardrobe, and easy to reuse. Also, pastel colors such as light pink or a blush color would also be used for a basic color.

Tops

The weather is starting to get chilly, so tanks and crops are out for me! I suggest tops that have more coverage to keep you more warm this fall.

  • Long sleeve fitted tops (full length)

  • Short sleeve fitted tops (full length)

  • Button-up dress shirt

  • Blazer

  • Long sleeve bodysuit

  • Short sleeve bodysuit

These items can also be reused for different outfits, for fall and winter. Please note that you don’t have to get everything on the list, as only a few pieces would suffice.

Bottoms

Bottoms are usually the easiest to find, because they’re literally just bottoms lol. But some bottoms are a must for the fall season.

  • Straight-leg Jeans (black, light wash, medium wash)

  • Leather pants (black, beige)

  • Wide leg pants

Having a variety of pants will allow you to expand your outfits and wardrobe.

Shoes

Shoes can be a staple piece or an accessory. However, some shoes should be used as a basic whenever you need to put a quick outfit together.

Here are some shoes you need for your fall wardrobe:

  • Combat boots

  • White Sneakers

  • tall boots
