Archived: Alexa Demie
We don’t know when she’s coming, but we know whenever she’s here. Alexa Demie, who’s incognito pretty much 360 days out of the year, does vintage like no one else. In fact, every time she pops out on the scene I’m always in awe because her style is so captivating. I just KNOW she has some best, rarest fashion archives in her closet that we’ll probably never see, sadly. From galas to a night out with the gals, Alexa always catches the eye with her one-of-a-kind style, wearing some of the coolest fashion finds. She’s had countless iconic fashion moments, but here are 5 of my favorite looks from Alexa Demie, and where they’re sourced (spoiler, they’re all from Aralda Vintage).
Pop Magazine
This dress was featured in the Pop Magazine Issue 46 in S/S 2022. This dress is vintage Mugler from Aralda Vintage.
2. Pop Magazine
This second look is from a different shoot in the same magazine issue. This maxi dress is from John Galliano and of course, sourced from Aralda Vintage. I’m still searching the internet for the print version of the issue, and it’s NOWHERE to be found. I desperately need to get my hands on the print copy of this magazine, but for now, these photos from Alana O’Herlihy will suffice. Alana O’Herlihy is the photographer for this magazine issue.
3. Moët & Chandon Holiday Celebration
This two-piece is from the one and only, Azzedine Alaïa. This is a couture number, and of course, sourced from Aralda Vintage. The two-piece was first shown on Christy Turlington, who wore it in L’Officiel Magazine (the silhouette in the picture on the right is actually Christy Turlington’s silhouette). The suit was also worn by Winona Ryder, who wore it to the Premiere of Dracula in 1992.
4. Euphoria Season 2 Premiere
This beautiful gown is actually one of my favorite looks by Alexa Demie. This is a Norman Norell sheer gown, and it’s my favorite because it’s from the 70’s, and I usually don’t see archives from that time period. I love how it fits her, and the vibe is just so sleek and mature. I remember seeing this when photos of the Euphoria premiere circled the internet, and I felt really inspired from this look. Shout out to the Euphoria costume designer for putting Maddy in that purple Norman Norell gown in season 2 because now I need one exactly like it.
5. Bonus: Alexa Demie as Maddy Perez
I couldn’t conclude this week’s blog post without acknowledging the iconic Maddy Perez, played by Alexa Demie. Maddy is honestly just an extension of Alexa in terms of fashion, as portrayed in the photo here. In this scene, she’s seen trying on her boss’s outfits in her closet. For all my fashion girlies out there, you know all the clothes in this scene were iconic, and this look is actually my favorite. It’s 1997 Chanel, fun, girly, and it honestly represents who Maddy wanted to be in the future, a rich and successful hottie.
If you’re intrigued, there’s a British Vogue article that goes deeper into the story behind all of the vintage designer from Euphoria. Check it out here.
